Thanks for stopping by to read our Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Knife Review.

I remember, when the Spyderco Tenacious was first announced, how divided the knife community was at the announcement of a branded and China made Spyderco. A few years later, we can see that Spyderco took up its bets well, as there has been practically nothing but markedly positive reviews on the Tenacious from the knife community.

Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Knife Review

At least for now, I personally own two Tenacious knives. They are so cheap that it’s hard to resist grabbing another one, if a nice sprint run comes up. The two I own includes a Frankensteined sprint run of the Tenacious with blue G-10 handles, and that is no longer available, and also a regular, non-sprint run Tenacious, the one with a fine blade and black G-10 handles. I have modified the two knives by exchanging the handles so that I can have a blue-handle, black-blade Spyderco Tenacious.

As I was curious as to how my standard Tenacious would perform with a finer tip, I have alter edit to have a clip point blade. I got to say I was very happy with the performance.

Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Knife – Size

The Spyderco Tenacious is not really a small knife. When fully open, it is 197 mm (7.8 inches) and 113 mm (4.5 inches) when closed. However, I think it is an ideal size for general EDC.

The Tenacious is one of the fastest deploying knives I own due to the totally exposed Spyderhole and smoothness of the knife. It shoots out with goal, even though it utilizes simple Bronze washers and has no bearings or assists of any kind.

Changing the blade to a clip point has enabled this knife to be a penetrator and brutal slicer. Comparable to a stock Endura.

Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Knife – Liner Lock

The stainless-steel liner lock secures with force. I have never had my Tenacious disappoint me, and I have really used this knife hard at its low-price point.

To disengage the liner lock there is a generous cut out. I hope all knives had this design choice.

It’s very easy to close one handed, and instead of my thumb I can safely do it using my fingers.

Here you can notice the difference related to the blade taper between a stock Tenacious (the blue-handle knife) and my modified Tenacious (the black-handle knife).

Removing a lot of blade steel at the tip has truly given it a needle point.

The balance point is behind the pivot as with 90% of Spydercos.

Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Knife – Pocket Clip

Can’t really say that I’m the greatest fan of the pocket clip, as I have constantly preferred the more guarded clips on the Sage series knives, however the hourglass clip functions as expected.

Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Knife – Steel

The 8Cr13MoV steel is obviously not a super steel, but rather holds its edge appropriately through most EDC tasks. It’s additionally simple to touch up and get back to hair shaving sharp.

The overall weight of the knife, is about average at 117 g (4 oz.). As stainless steel is not particularly light Spyderco skeletonized the liners, that truly helps with the weight. I wish it had in-built liners like the Spyderco Military, but of course, it would be pretty much impossible at this price point.

Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Knife – Blade

The blade is intriguing, as it does not feature a choil of any sort. For Spyderco, this is quite unique. It has an overall blade length of 86 mm (3.4 inches), that has a total edge of 86 mm (3.4 inches). From the regular line up, this is a refreshing change and the full flat grind is quite lean, making the Tenacious an unimaginable slicer.

The ergonomics are exceptionally well considered with a strong, neutral sweet spot. You will find it comfortable to hold, regardless of your hand size.

Both for collectors and users the Tenacious is a must have knife. Based on price point, it has proven to exceed expectations countless times both in terms of fit and finish and in terms of performance.

Spyderco Tenacious G-10 Knife – Conclusion

For creating a China-made product Spyderco deserves some accolades as it is so well-produced.

The Spyderco Tenacious is a high performing EDC folder at an incredible price point, of high quality fit and finish.

For its cost, it is almost unbelievable how awesome this knife is, and Spyderco should absolutely be recommended for greatly bringing down the entry cost into the Spyderco fan club so generously. For not having a Spyderco at this point there is just no excuse, as they have made their products available to those in all walks of life and economic status.
